This Restorative Yoga Training has been developed for current yoga teachers, as well as body workers, coaches, therapists and health care professionals who work with the interplay between stress and healing. Advanced students who want to dive deeply into the study and practice of restorative yoga are also welcome.

Foundations of Restorative Yoga

In this first module of the Restorative Yoga Training, Vickie Russell Bell will lead students through several full sequences of restorative poses as well as how to utilize the breath and other tools to support deep relaxation. Students will then work with partners and small groups to set up and teach key poses helping to lay the foundation for a Restorative Yoga teaching and personal practice.

Enjoy lectures and discussion on the basic tenets of restorative yoga – including an introduction to the nervous system, stress hormones, and how to bring restorative elements to the practice when you have minimal props.

*This training qualifies as 20 hours of elective credit in the Namaste Professional 300 hour Teacher Training.

Restorative Yoga Training with Vickie Russell Bell

Vickie Russell Bell has studied extensively with Richard Rosen, Rodney Yee, Judith Hanson Lasater and Tony Briggs. She is greatly influenced by her personal desire to calm and heal the nervous system. She brings her practical life experience, dedication to personal growth and 24 years of yoga teaching experience to her classes. Vickie values curiosity and humor and helps students create conditions to discover ease and allow energy to arise in the body. In addition to public classes and teacher trainings, she also teaches yoga to people with Parkinson’s Disease.
