300 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training
The Namaste 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is a combination of intensive study, hands-on practice, and deep inquiry allowing you to refine your vision and take your teaching to the next level.

Learn in both large and small group settings and expect one-on-one attention and feedback. Our instructors will help you articulate your beliefs and style into a teaching methodology that is authentically yours. Enhance your existing skill set and stand out as a knowledgeable and qualified leader.

Our program will cover all of the topics essential to refining your skills and cultivating your career:
- Precision in alignment principles, verbal and hands-on cueing
- A deepened understanding of human anatomy and how various body types experience asana
- Therapeutic applications of yoga
- Depth of study of the history of yoga and honoring the origins of practice
- How to embody philosophy and mythology in modern context
- How to sequence with purpose and develop curriculum
- Hours of practice teaching with feedback
- Empowering your own personal perspective and voice as a teacher
- Business strategy and development, including a professional photo shoot
Our training is comprised of multiple layers of learning that weave together into a dynamic, well-rounded experience. The Core Module is the foundation of the program, during which you will spend 10 months with the lead instructors of the program. During this time you will also attend weekly class with at least one instructor, with whom you choose as a mentor. In addition, you are able to customize a portion of the training to align with your unique interests by choosing 60 hours of electives from Namaste’s ongoing line up of continuing education, from various senior teachers in the Bay Area.
16 Weekend meetings from February 9 – December 8, 2019
Saturday and Sunday, 12:30-7pm at Namaste Berkeley.

Select one lead instructor as your mentor. Mentorship begins with weekly attendance at your mentor’s public class, followed by weekly observation of their class, followed by weekly assisting in their class.
Graduation Requirement: 10 weeks attendance, 10 weeks observation, 10 weeks assisting
A significant amount of time during the Core Module is dedicated to practicing your teaching skills with feedback from the lead instructors. In addition, Namaste will host a public community class where you will teach a live class in the final months of the program.
Graduation Requirement: Lead one 60 minute community class
Customize your learning by selecting elective courses from Namaste’s robust continuing education offerings. The cost of the electives are not included in the Core Module tuition. Prices, dates and times depend on the programs you select.

Abby Tucker, E-RYT 500, Lead Instructor.
As a teacher, Abby creates an atmosphere of keeping it real while challenging students to their highest potential in the moment. She speaks from the authentic place of her own heart’s experience and is renowned for her unique ability to make the practices of yoga pertinent to the full spectrum of life experiences. Her classes are a profound and authentic offering of dynamic alignment, embodied flow, and skillful refinement. Students are encouraged to work diligently while honoring their own boundaries. Abby believes in empowering students through deep inquiry and skillful application of a pulsation of dynamic alignment principles. Each asana class also includes the essential grounding practices of pranayama and meditation.
Vickie Russell Bell, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, Lead Instructor.
Vickie has been studying yoga since 1990 and began teaching in 1994 in Ohio. Her teaching style emphasizes body awareness, alignment, and the integration of mindfulness and ease in Hatha yoga practice and daily life. Vickie sees yoga as a direct way to manipulate the nervous system in a world full of stimulation and stress. Her intention is to help her students to increase their level of daily awareness and consciousness, so that they might begin to unearth the Truth of who they really are.She is a graduate of the Piedmont Yoga Studio Advanced Training Program and a certified “Relax and Renew Trainer” through Judith Lasater’s accredited program. Vickie is also on the core faculty for the Advanced Training Program at PYS.
Ada Lusardi, E-RYT 500
Ada Lusardi’s classes and workshops marry the heart and science of yoga by offering nuanced and precise teaching with warmth and humor. Through the use of compassionate and clear direction, intelligent sequencing, and skillful hands-on adjustments, Ada’s teachings challenge and refine one’s yoga practice, regardless of age or ability. A self-professed “anatomy geek,” she leads classes and retreats throughout California’s Bay area and around the country. She is a graduate, and faculty member, of The Berkeley Yoga Room’s Advanced Studies Program, a long time student of Donald Moyer and Mary Lou Weprin, and a perennial student of yoga and life.
Melina Meza, E-RYT 500
Melina holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Bastyr University, where she deepened her interest in the world of whole foods nutrition, and is a certified Ayurvedic Health Educator from the California College of Ayurveda. While attending Bastyr, she found what her body, mind, and spirit had been waiting for—yoga. From her very first class in 1993, she have never stopped exploring the physical, mental, and spiritual practices passed down from the ancient sages. Yoga has been the “launching pad”—as her teacher Gary Kraftsow describes it—that has rocketed her into a life journey of cultivating the disciplines necessary to gain insight and wisdom integral to being healthy, compassionate, and radiant, as well as how to share those gifts with others.

· Completion of a YA certified 200 hour teacher training
· A minimum of 6 months teaching experience and must continue to actively teach at least one class per week during the Core Module.
